After review by the Executive of the Board of Directors:

Football Manitoba is reinstating the sanction for the Sports University Spring Football Program.

This was done as Sports University has complied with the requirements of sanctioning under the “Camps and Special Events” requirement of our policies. The organization has adjusted advertising on the Sports University website and has made some revision of the camp activities. The same number of contact dates should be in effect. This was the original guideline that sanction was granted under in the fall.

Clarification for participants and parents.

Sports University is operating as a camp. The organization cannot operate as a league in that it is a policy requirement of Football Manitoba that leagues must join as members by applying at an AGM. Any application is voted upon by the general membership. This was agreed upon at the January 2014 Board meeting attended by Mr. D. Lytle of Sports University.

As a camp, Sports University cannot have a schedule that features named teams, standings, player records, official scores, holds playoffs, or conducts a championship. Practices and scrimmages that develop skills are allowed, and players can be given recorded feedback of a statistical nature. This would be in the form of a personal report card and not a published list of statistics.

With sanction, the Football Manitoba insurance program with Sport Manitoba will be in effect.
