Football Manitoba does, as he will be speaking at the 13th Man Dinner

WINNIPEG, MB – Milt Stegall will be back in Winnipeg to speak at Football Manitoba’s 13th Man Fundraising Dinner on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014 at The Pinnacle Club at Investors Group Field.

Stegall, a guest analyst on the CFL on TSN panel, is a Winnipeg Blue Bomber legend and one of the greatest receivers to ever play in the Canadian Football League. Stegall was inducted into the Winnipeg Football Club Hall of Fame in 2009 and later inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 2012.

“We’re very excited and very honored to have Milt speak at our dinner,” said Shawn Coates, Executive Director of Football Manitoba. “He is an energetic and engaging speaker who is loved by Winnipeggers. This event will be a first class event.”

Stegall is a nine-time CFL All-Star and was named the league’s Most Outstanding Player in 2002. He is the CFL all-time leader in receiving touchdowns with 144 and also holds the CFL record for most touchdowns scored with 147.

MILT STEGALL BIOGRAPHY

Born on January 25, 1970 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Milt Stegall decided to stay in his home state to play collegiate football at the University of Miami at Ohio. He signed with the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League as an undrafted free agent and played three seasons. Stegall joined the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the 1995 season.

In 1997, Stegall caught 61 passes for a total of 1,616 yards and 14 touchdowns setting a CFL record with an average of 26.5 yards a catch. He was named a division All-Star, as well as a CFL All-Star for the first time in his career. Stegall would later go on to be a 9-time CFL All-Star.

The 2002 season was Stegall’s greatest as he lead the league in many categories, such as receptions (106), receiving yards (1,896), and touchdowns (23). He would set a league record for touchdowns in a single season and receiving touchdowns in a single season with 23. Among all else, he was voted the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player.

At the time of his retirement in 2009, Stegall was the CFL’s all-time leading receiver with a career total: 845 receptions, 15,153 receiving yards, 17.7-yard average, 144 receiving touchdowns, and a longest gain of 105 yards.  He held the following CFL records:  most career touchdowns (147), most touchdowns in a single season (23), most receiving touchdowns in a career (144), most receiving yards (15,153). He is also a member of the Winnipeg Football Club Hall of Fame.

Since retirement, Stegall has found a role that has kept him in front of the bright lights, as a broadcaster. He is currently is a guest analyst for the CFL on TSN’s panel.
