The Winnipeg Blue Bombers, in partnership with Football Manitoba, will host a National Coaches Certification Program clinic for the Community Novice and Intro to Competition levels on May 9 -10, 2014 at Investors Group Field.

The Bombers are covering the entry fee for all coaches in attendance, allowing funds to stay in amateur football programs while still giving the coaches an opportunity to upgrade their skills and ultimately be better teachers of the game.

The Blue Bombers are committed to supporting all levels of amateur football through their 50/50 program; more than $1-Million has been raised over the past 10 years.

“As the leader of football in the province of Manitoba, holding a clinic like this allows us to fulfill our mandate of giving back. The amateur athletes in our community are the future of football, and one of the best ways for us to support them is to support their coaches,” says the President and CEO of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Wade Miller.

The National Coaches Certification Program clinics will include on-field instruction with demonstrations from the University of Manitoba Bisons, Winnipeg Rifles and Winnipeg Blue Bomber Alumni, plus classroom and film study in the Bombers Football Operations area at Investors Group Field.

“This clinic confirms again the Blue Bombers commitment to amateur football in the province,” says Shawn Coates, Executive Director of Football Manitoba. “We are very grateful that they are enabling coaches to receive high-quality training for the betterment of our young athletes.”
