The Football Manitoba Hall of Fame is calling for nominations for its Class of 2015.

The Hall of Fame – a not-for-profit organization dedicated to honouring those who have made special contributions to amateur tackle football in Manitoba – is asking for nominations in the following categories:

  • Player

  • Coach

  • Official

  • Builder

  • Team


 

Specific criteria for these categories are listed below. Please submit all nominations to:

GENERAL CRITERIA

All potential inductees must fit the following criteria. Any exceptions will be outlined in the specific categories:

  1. Inductees must have participated under Football Manitoba or within; The Manitoba Amateur Football Association, during the period for which outstanding performance is claimed.

  2. Inductees must have had a career or at least five (5) years and have been retired from their respective category for a minimum of three (3) years.

  3. Only those who were involved or played tackle football (exception: special category) at the amateur level will be considered.


 

TEAM CATEGORY

This category honours those teams who have excelled at their level. These teams would have promoted the high quality of football, which has come to be expected of Football Manitoba athletes.

TEAM CRITERIA

  1. Competed in a league at the local, regional, provincial or national championship level.

  2. Teams in the following disciplines will be considered:

  3. Tackle Football

  4. Including six, nine and 12-man

  5. Only amateur will be considered including CIS and CJFL football

  6. Special consideration may be extended to teams outside of these categories if nominated.


 

PLAYER CATEGORY

This category honours those players who have excelled in their position(s) over a number of years. These players are the elites in their league, region, province or nation.

PLAYER CRITERIA

  1. He / she would have been a team leader

  2. Selected to receive awards for his / her outstanding play and sportsmanship

  3. Would have been selected to All-Star Teams or games, such as: league, Team Manitoba, Shrine Bowl, Senior Bowl, etc.

  4. Would be a credit to his / her team and football in Manitoba

  5. Would have played for a minimum of five (5) years

  6. They have not been active as a player for at least three (3) years


 

COACH CATEGORY

This category honours those who have dedicated themselves through coaching to the development of amateur athletes and the sport of football.

COACH CRITERIA

  1. Would have coached amateur football for at least 10 years

  2. Would have received positive results and / or recognition for his / her coaching by means of awards his / her peers, or playoff performances and championships

  3. Would have successfully completed the required coaching certification for coaching at their level after 1972


NOTE: Exceptions to the certification program will be extended to coaches who coached prior to 1972.

 

OFFICIAL CATEGORY

This category honours those who have been recognized as outstanding officials through on-field officiating, timekeeping, game-day observers and in executive roles.

OFFICIAL CRITERIA

  1. Active official for at least 10 years in Manitoba

  2. Must have achieved a minimum of Level 4 CFOA

  3. Demonstrated dedicated service over the years

  4. Contributed to the development of minor officials

  5. Selected to work a minimum of of six (6) local and Provincial Championship games

  6. Selected to work at least two (2) National Championship games

  7. Demonstrated a high level of leadership over his / her years as an official


 

BUILDER CATEGORY

This category honours those who have served Football Manitoba’s family in a non-playing role, serving as trainers, managers or executive roles in the football community. These individuals have made a positive contribution by freely volunteering their time and expertise to the advancement of amateur tackle football in Manitoba.

BUILDER CRITERIA

  1. Worked actively as a builder for a minimum of ten (10) years

  2. Must have acted in a volunteer capacity


 

SPECIAL AWARD CATEGORY

From time-to-time and at the discretion of the Hall of Fame Committee, special consideration will be given to those teams or individuals who may be nominated but who do not meet a number of the specified category criteria.
