Kelsey McKay and Eric Vincent picked to lead U16 provincial teams

 



WINNIPEG, MB – Football Manitoba today announced that Kelsey McKay and Eric Vincent will be the head coaches of its two U16 provincial teams. The teams will compete in the 2015 Red River Cup Under-16 National Championships in Winnipeg next July.

McKay is the head coach of the Vincent Massey Trojans. He brings 25 years of coaching experience to the provincial team program. McKay led Team Manitoba Gold to a bronze medal at the 2014 Red River Cup.

Vincent, a former Winnipeg Rifles and University of Manitoba Bisons player, comes to the U16 head coaching role with seven years of coaching experience at many levels. The head coach of Sturgeon Heights Collegiate, Vincent has worked as an assistant with Team Manitoba Gold, Team Winnipeg West and the Manitoba Fearless women’s team.

“We are very proud to have Kelsey and Eric as our provincial team coaches,” said Shawn Coates, Executive Director of Football Manitoba. “They bring energy, intelligence and experience to our Under-16 program. We look forward to working with them during the next year.”

The 2015 Red River Cup takes place July 5-11, 2015 at Investors Group Field.
